Welcome Kate Ezawa!

Over the past several months, we have been rehearsing with a new violinist Kate Ezawa. We are thrilled to announce that she is the newest resident member of the Blackstone Valley String Quartet!

We have a large network of musicians, but our resident members play a crucial part of the success of the quartet. Most events that we perform, we try to have at least one of our resident members present. Our resident quartet rehearses together on a regular basis and can be seen on our video recordings. Having a resident member present at events we perform ensures that that event is performed to the standards that we have set for the group. We are so excited to have Kate on board to perform concerts with us and fill the role of resident member at events this year!

Kate Ezawa, violinist, comes to the Blackstone Valley String Quartet from OurStrings4You, which she was a co-founding member of.  She performed for special events throughout Los Angeles with West Coast Music, Subito Strings, Ocdamia Strings, and the Clover String Quartet, as well as with OS4Y. Performance highlights include accompanying tenor Andrea Bocelli and being featured on the TV series “Hell’s Kitchen.”

Through college and extended studies as a student, she was coached by members of top string quartets including Guarneri, Brodsky, St. Petersburg, and Ariel Quartets. She has undergraduate and master’s degrees in Violin and also worked with LA Phil violinist Ingrid Chun and Evgeny Zvonnikov. She is a former member of the Bakersfield Symphony Orchestra and an alumni of the American Youth Symphony.

Kate teaches violin lessons in Cambridge, where she runs her own violin studio. www.KatherineEzawa.com
